Designed with a Stainless Steel 316 housing the K-SS-Ex is an extremely strong ATEX approved tongue operated safety interlock switch. The K-SS-Ex has been designed and manufactured to fit to the leading edge of sliding, hinged or lift off machine guards to provide positively operated switching contacts whilst at the same time providing a tamper resistant, not easily defeated key mechanism. The K-SS-Ex has been designed to provide extremely robust position interlock detection for moving guards within areas where explosive atmospheres are present. Depending on the risk assessment for the application, the K-SS-Ex can be used independently to provide positive interlocking to IEC60947-5-1 or it can be used in combination with any dual channel safety monitoring relays to provide functional safety up to PLe ISO13849-1 or SIL3 EN62061.
